spelling Teaching Mathematics through Virtual Learning Objects at Universidad Católica de PereiraEnseñar matemáticas usando objetos virtuales de aprendizaje en la Universidad Católica de PereiraThis article presents the results of a research carried out in order tomotivate students in the learning process of mathematics through the useof Virtual Learning Objects (OVA) and having as a significant departureteaching practices based in context, since it is one of the areas havinghigher academic mortality in educational institutions in our country.The aim is to transform some teaching practices in this area and developa Virtual Learning Object to be used as a motivating axis among student -teacher - discipline and to provide the student with the acquisition of skills,competences, and abilities inherent to those proposed by the NationalMinistry of Education.It is very important to consider that the design and construction of theOVA is a fundamental aspect when appropriating a methodology thataims to consolidate mathematical concepts and specific knowledge in thestudents.An aspect taken into account when designing these “objects” is that thestudents use this resource as much as possible; that is why they mustbe developed with specifications of adaptability, accessibility and easynavigationEn el presente artículo se da a conocer el resultado de una investigación llevada a cabo con el fin de motivar a los estudiantes en el proceso de aprendizaje de las matemáticas, mediante el uso de Objetos Virtuales de Aprendizaje (OVAs) y teniendo como punto de partida prácticas pedagógicas significativas adaptadas a su contexto, dado que es esta una de las áreas que presenta mayor mortalidad académica en las instituciones educativas del país. Lo que se pretende es transformar algunas practicas en este sentido y desarrollar un Objeto Virtual de Aprendizaje que sirva de eje motivador entre estudiante – docente - disciplina y que facilite al estudiante la adquisición de destrezas y habilidades inherentes a los niveles de competencias propuestas por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional. Se aclara que el diseño y construcción del OVA constituye un aspecto fundamental al momento de apropiar una metodología que pretenda consolidar conceptos matemáticos y afianzar los conocimientos que se deseen impartir.
