Therefore, an initial refl ection on thepractices of the self and its use in control societies is unfolded.Then, in order to think on these problems the foundationalliterature from Michel Foucault is indicated. Later,productions on the topic that can provide both categoricaland methodological elements for these investigations areoutlined. Finally, some conclusions about the processes ofsubjectivity and power relations that take shape in them, aswell as the possibilities that the practices of self offer thesubjects to become an object of his own work are unfold.Este artículo tiene por interés aportar elementos para la producción investigativa de prácticas de sí contemporáneas, desde una mirada foucaultiana. Se despliega, por tanto, una reflexión inicial sobre las prácticas de sí y su uso en las sociedades de control; luego, se indica la bibliografía que desde Michel Foucault es fundante para pensar estas problemáticas. Posteriormente, se reseñan producciones sobre el tópico que pueden brindar elementos tanto categoriales como metodológicos para realizar estas investigaciones.
