Aspectos sociodemográficos del municipio de Pereira.

This document takes the description of the most important sociodemographic aspects for the municipality of Pereira. It was done based in poll of homes and productive units, recently done by the “Departamento Nacional de Estadísticas (DANE)” and it is a part of a wider job made by the group of investigation, economical growth and social development, at a consultancy level, for the “Plan de Ordenamiento territorial del municipio de Pereira”. The most important finds are: the loss in the dynamics of the population growth, the apparent stagnation of the urbanization process, the chance in the structure of age of the population as well as the composition by gender, the reduction in the number of people by home and the strong confirmation of the phenomenon known as “the orphan children by absent parents”. In the economical environment some similar characteristics to the rest of the region are observed, enlightening the growing dependence of the external money orders and fundamentally the process of “terciarización” of the economy.
