From the assessment of the structures and materials of an artificial nature, chronological relations of technical development are established as well as links between functions of different character: practical, communicative and formal aesthetic. The use of materials evolved, looking for the most appropriate shape for the efficient accomplishment of the function in order to build cities and to create the conditions for commerce, defense and war.La racionalidad de la raza humana se empezó a manifestar en actividades sencillas y cotidianas para la construcción de viviendas y objetos domésticos. A partir de la lectura de las estructuras y los materiales empleados para la configuración de la naturaleza artificial, se establecen relaciones cronológicas de desarrollo técnico y la relación entre las funciones prácticas, comunicativas y formal-estéticas. Los materiales evolucionaron hacia la búsqueda de la forma más adecuada para el eficiente cumplimiento de la función, para la construcción de grandes urbes, para el comercio, la defensa y la guerra.
