A research process that allowed a dialogue between theory and experiential realities, narrated by the researched subjects, about their practices and conceptions of political socialization. As a result, evidences showed that although excelling as male or female leaders in their community, there is still a lack of knowledge of the role they play as political subjects, and have not yet achieved a full position as subjects of rights. Therefore, one of the central recommendations is the need for political education in this field.En el artículo se abordan las concepciones y prácticas como construcciones de las experiencias de socialización política vividas y expresadas por un grupo de personas con identidad transgénero de la ciudad de Pereira. Se pone en diálogo la teoría con las realidades experienciales narradas por los sujetos de la investigación, acerca de sus prácticas y concepciones en torno a la socialización política. Como resultado, se evidenció que pese a destacarse como líderes y lideresas dentro de su comunidad, aún existe un desconocimiento del rol que desempeñan como sujetos políticos, así como la falta de un pleno posicionamiento como sujetos de derechos.
