La pregunta está dirigida a cómo los espacios públicos de la ciudad contemporánea están estrictamente enfocados en la mera circulación. Ya no hay espacios en donde las personas se encuentren y el andén se volvió una cuerda floja entre el paso de vehículos motorizados a un lado y el límite de la propiedad privada al otro. El "qué" es regalarle al peatón más espacio público y el "cómo" es abriendo a la calle los vacíos olvidados del interior de la manzana, teniendo en cuenta la cultura, el urbanismo y arquitectura de Cartago para transformar en espacio público lo que antes era el espacio más privado de todos. / Abstract: On the agenda of architecture and urban planning must prevail the constant questions of Why do we build cities? and what cities do we want to build? The question should be how the public spaces of the contemporary city are strictly focused on circulation. There are no longer spaces for people to meet and the platform became a tightrope between the passage of motorized vehicles on one side and the border of private property on the other. The "what" is to give the pedestrian more public space and the "how" is to open the forgotten voids inside the block to the street, by thinking about the culture, urban planning and architecture of Cartago to transform what used to be the most private space of all into a public space for the city.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
