Methodologically, interviews were made to experts (physical therapists, rheumatologists and others), and people affected with the disease. The goal is to find a design of elements that will contribute to favor the development of the daily activities of the persons with this disease with advantages for its use and maintenance. El artículo da a conocer el proyecto final de grado que se realizó para obtener el título de diseñadora industrial de la Universidad Católica de Pereira. Consiste en un estudio relacionado con la artritis reumatoidea, tratamientos, ayudas técnicas, psicología de la vejez, calidad de vida en los ancianos, característica de la tercera edad en Colombia, diseño emocional y principios de diseño universal, con el fin de diseñar una ayuda técnica para personas con artritis reumatoide que padecen esta enfermedad, en sus niveles 3 y 4. Metodológicamente, se realizaron entrevistas a expertos (fisioterapeutas, reumatólogos, entre otros) y a afectados con la enfermedad, así como encuesta de diagnóstico.
