From three lines of research focused on the problems of habitat, technology, culture and development of the territory in contemporary human settlements, whether cities, intermediate cities or population centers minors, from design component teaching aims to solve real problems, this has been helpful, allowing support the institutional mission and vision development proposals and strategies have enabled participation in competitions of Architecture and Urban Design, for the heat of competition the creative spirit detonates and innovative students and members of the seed research, properly oriented who can make significant gains. Such is the case of groups formed to develop international competitions habitat “Urban Revitalization of Mass Housing” organized by UNHABITAT “and Convive VIII” to which reference is made in the development of this article.El artículo hace referencia al proceso investigativo que se estimula en la facultad de arquitectura y diseño de la UCP. A partir de tres líneas de investigación, enfocadas en los problemas del hábitat, la tecnología, la cultura y el desarrollo del territorio en los asentamientos humanos contemporáneos, bien sean metrópolis, ciudades intermedias o centros poblados menores, desde el componente proyectual se orienta la enseñanza a la solución de problemas reales, esto ha sido útil, permitiendo apoyar la misión y visión institucional el desarrollo de propuestas y estrategias han posibilitado la participación en concursos de Arquitectura y Diseño Urbano, pues el calor de la competencia se detona el espíritu creativo e innovadorde los estudiantes e integrantes de los semilleros de investigación, quienes debidamente orientados pueden obtener logros significativos.
