The article seeks to assess the level of innovation in the design of bamboo products in the Center Western Metropolitan Area and to identify the most successful ones. Departing from an industrial design perspective, the article offers guidelines for the manufacture of bamboo products that go beyond conventional views and displays the possibility for technological development.El siguiente articulo forma parte de la segunda fase del proyecto de la línea de investigación en Tecnología y Diseño cuya temática se centra en el estudio del diseño de productos en Guadua como material autóctono de la región con altas potencialidades de desarrollo tecnológico en la fabricación, que trasciendan los modos actuales de producción, circunscritos a imaginarios culturales y tecnológicos sin proyección de su verdadero valor como materia prima para múltiples sectores económicos.
