This event has a source from television´s stories are proposed to audience active the meaningful learning process, without the content been explicitly educational. For the comprehension process about social environment, is necessaries a previous condition, the narrative structure of television´s programs must be highly interpellative, in other words, the narrative may contains stories about the world what propitiates the formation of creative association between content programs and the precedent knowledge from audience. This research concludes that the educational potential from television is based in the narrative way condition.Este artículo presenta los resultados de la investigación “Lecturas educativas de la televisión. Aprendizaje en  la recepción” que se realizó a partir del análisis de tres tipos diferentes de programas de televisión (documentales, dramatizados y noticieros) y sus lecturas en 36 adolescentes escolarizados de la ciudad de Manizales. Se concluyó que las narrativas audiovisuales que tienen una estructura altamente propositiva generan aprendizajes significativos en sus audiencias. Esto se da porque a partir de los relatos que son propuestos a los receptores, se activan procesos significativos de aprendizaje sin que dichos contenidos sean explícitamente educativos. Para estos es necesario cumplir una condición previa: que los contenidos que reciben las audiencias sean altamente interpretativos, es decir, que contengan relatos sobre el mundo que propicien la formación de asociaciones creativas entre los contenidos del programa, y el saber precedente con que cuentan las audiencias.
