It is concluded that in the formation of the Americanrepublics, there are similar phenomena in terms of war facts,declarations of independence, the formation of creole elitesto impose their liberal speeches in most of the time andeducation systems assuming that it will serve to establishindependent and prosperous republics.Este artículo analiza aspectos en la esfera de la educación y de la universidad en Norteamérica y Latino américa en los años coloniales y de finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX, especialmente en países como Argentina, Chile, Brasil y el caso colombiano, que es de especial consideración por la mezcla ideológica, política y filosófica que sustentan los postulados de la educación oficial en Colombia, y las respuestas laicas y liberales a dichas consideraciones de orden colonial, republicano y constitucional.
