It proposes to establish clarity about the basic concepts that operate nowadays in this area, approaching the characteristics, structure and style that define an investigation article. In addition, the fundamental aspects of the process of publication are explored: the way of disclosure, the prestige, the preparation of the articles and the arbitration system. Finally, relations are established between writing and correction as operative strategies for the investigator-author of papers.Se revisa el tema de la publicación de artículos científicos en revistas especializadas, a partir de la literatura vigente y de la experiencia en edición y corrección de materiales. Se propone establecer claridad en torno a los conceptos básicos que operan actualmente en el área, abordando las características, estructura y estilo que definen un artículo de investigación; además, se exploran los aspectos fundamentales del proceso de publicación: el medio de divulgación, el prestigio de tales plataformas, la preparación de los artículos y el sistema de arbitraje.
