Pereira, 2004La investigación que se presentará a continuación, se desarrolla a partir de una pregunta orientadora: ¿Cuáles son las características psicológicas y sociales de las personas que suicidaron en Pereira durante los meses de Enero a Septiembrede 2003? ,y cuyo objetivo es identificar tales características con el fin de facilitar a otras entidades de salud herramientas útiles en la creación de planes preventivos en el problema del suicidio; la muestra utilizada fue de 20 sujetos que consumaron el acto suicida en la ciudad de Pereira. Para el desarrollo que facilitara respuestas a la anterior pregunta, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica que sustenta el problema del suicidio y los posteriores hallazgos. Para la recolección de información se utilizó el MAP (manual de autopsia psicológica), el cual es un cuestionario estructurado, que pretende recopilar los datos necesarios sobre la vida y personalidad del fallecido, y cuyo objetivo es hacer una reconstrucción socio psicopatológica postmortem, que ayudará a establecer las circunstancias que rodearon la muerte; la entrevista estaba dirigida a familiares o amigos cercanos a los sujetos del estudio, la aplicación tuvo una duración de una hora y media aproximadamente; se obtuvo además de la información que arrojaba el manual, información por medio de la observación y un registro que recopilaba datos importante no tenidos en cuenta en el manual; igualmente, se utilizaron los protocolos del Instituto de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses de Pereira que contenían información de la necropsia, reporte de la SIJIN acerca del levantamiento del cadáver y posible causa de muerte, entre otros. Para el análisis de la información se creó una base de datos utilizando el programa estadístico EPI-INFO, se describieron las variables más representativas y, de acuerdo a lo encontrado, se realizaron cruces de variables entre algunas de ellas; éste cruce no significa una correlación entre variables, ya que el estudio es descriptivo, al contrario representa algunas relaciones importantes teniendo en cuenta la teoría que las sustenta, como por ejemplo la relación entre posible motivación del acto suicida y pérdidas recientes significativas, tipo de personalidad y relaciones familiares, entre otras. Al final del proyecto se presentan las conclusiones y recomendaciones referidas a los resultados del mismo.
