Summary:This article is a fi rst approach to the effects and impactabout the use of ICT in formative processes in educationalcontexts in Risaralda. It also pretends to continue withformer studies from the fi rst cohort of students belongingthe Master in Pedagogy and Human Development Programin the Universidad Católica de Pereira, about the “state ofthe art in virtual educational processes in Risaralda”, whichshows a current and general vision of education in Risaraldaby revealing the resources and methodologies needed. Bothstudies pretend to make suggestions and recommendationsfrom an evaluation of the impact to generate an effectivevirtual education in the Department of Risaralda. It ispossible to visualize an elementary development fromvirtual education, as a result of tools and strategies absencewhich prevents to adopt the available technological tools inan information society. Finally, the only way to reach thisprocess is by incorporating ICT to the Institution EducationalProject (PEI), where the members of the educationalcommunity work together to form new generations in aresponsible way to fortify the region.
