For this purpose, it was used as a methodology, the educationalethnography of qualitative type and the interview technique with open questions, which allowed to identify the interests of the learners.El presente artículo nace de la necesidad de contextualizar las matemáticas académicas, para lograr una mejor apropiación de los conocimientos y el desarrollo de habilidades matemáticas en los alumnos de grado séptimo. De igual manera, se pretende la modernización del proceso educativo, por medio de la articulación del quehacer docente con las tendencias actuales en la enseñanza matemática, como es el caso de la matematización.
