A su vez presenta una serie de aspectos importantes que se deben tener en cuenta para que las pequeñas y medianas empresas que pertenecen a este sector puedan alcanzar un nivel importante de competitividad y productividad basadas en el desarrollo sostenible. En la metodología de investigación involucra diferentes técnicas de análisis y recolección de información de carácter primario y secundario como son: análisis documental, entrevistas y encuestas las cuales se procesaron y analizaron entregando un diagnóstico de cómo se encontraban las pymes de dicho sector en los aspectos definidos como competitividad, desarrollo sostenible, proveedores, clientes, entre otros. Abstract: The present work makes a theoretical journey about the development that the textile and garment sector has had at a national and regional level, as well as at the local level, specifically in the Municipality of Dosquebradas. At the same time, it presents a series of important aspects that must be taken into account so that small and medium enterprises belonging to this sector can reach an important level of competitiveness and productivity based on sustainable development.
