Facultad de Ciencias Humanas, Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2017Mercaderes de la Perla es una investigación periodística a profundidad que aborda la problemática de las ventas informales de Pereira, capital del departamento de Risaralda - Colombia, desde los ojos de quienes en la carrera octava en el centro de la ciudad ejercen el comercio informal e intentan conseguir el sustento diario configurando el espacio público como su segundo hogar. El presente texto explora cómo desde un soporte multimedia online, se puede contar la situación desde un punto de vista periodístico mostrando la realidad de una forma innovadora. Para la recolección de información se realizaron entrevistas y observación participante, con lo que se pudo comprender la manera en la que los vendedores informales se apropian del espacio público transformándolo en su lugar de trabajo y desarrollando allí sus prácticas sociales y culturales. Mercaderes de la Perla is an in depth journalistic investigation that addresses the informal economy of Pereira, the capital of the department of Risaralda - Colombia, from the eyes of those who in “La Octava”, in the center of the city, who work in the informal sector and try to earn a daily living by making the public spaces in the city their second home. This text explores how from an online multimedia support, this situation can be told from a journalistic point of view showing reality in an innovative way. Interviews and participant observation were carried out for the purpose of this investigation and the results led to an understanding of the way in which the people involved in the informal sector appropriate public spaces by transforming them into their workplaces and by carrying out their social and cultural practices there.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
