The article has the intention to make an analysis of the transmission of gender stereotypes that have been perpetuated through breeding patterns over the years, with particular emphasis on the enormous progress that has been made from the 30s relating to gender stereotypes and that way remains to be done to build standards-based breeding policies with a picture of gender equality. Based on this, the first part of writing the changes outlined in the gender stereotypes that have been achieved due to the incorporation of guidelines a little more equal breeding, regarding current conditions of women and men in relation to the working life, housework and childcare; thus establishing the bases on that way remains to be traveled to achieve equitable within family relationships.El presente artículo comprende una reflexión teórica, inspirada en los avances investigativos desarrollados por la Línea de Investigación en Desarrollo Familiar y Comunitario, que lidera el Centro de Familia de la Universidad Católica de Pereira. El artículo tiene como pretensión hacer una análisis de la trasmisión de estereotipos de género que se han ido perpetuando a través de las pautas de crianza a lo largo de los años, haciendo especial énfasis en los enormes avances que se han logrado a partir de los años 30 en relación con los estereotipos de género y aquel camino que aún falta por recorrer para construir pautas de crianza basadas en políticas con un panorama de equidad de género.
