Summary: | This article includes a theoretical reflection, inspired by the research advances developed by the Research Line in Family and Community Development, who leads “Centro de Familia” of “Universidad Católica de Pereira”. The article has the intention to make an analysis of the transmission of gender stereotypes that have been perpetuated through breeding patterns over the years, with particular emphasis on the enormous progress that has been made from the 30s relating to gender stereotypes and that way remains to be done to build standards-based breeding policies with a picture of gender equality. Based on this, the first part of writing the changes outlined in the gender stereotypes that have been achieved due to the incorporation of guidelines a little more equal breeding, regarding current conditions of women and men in relation to the working life, housework and childcare; thus establishing the bases on that way remains to be traveled to achieve equitable within family relationships. |
