Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas, Pereira, 2016 Aún siendo el turismo de la salud un sector desconocido para la mayoría, es un tema que tiene proveniencia desde la antigüedad, pero que ha sido fortalecido con la ola de la globalización, para Colombia el gran potenciador de este sector fue la apertura económica en los 90’, en donde el país desarrollo una oferta exportadora de servicios bastante reconocida y que con el pasar de los años se convertiría en un pilar clave para el fortalecimiento del turismo y la economía del país, convirtiendo así a Colombia en uno de los países con mayor reconocimiento a nivel mundial en este servicio.Even though health tourism is an unknown sector for the majority, it is an issue that has come from antiquity, but which has been strengthened by the wave of globalization, for Colombia the great enhancer of this sector was the economic opening in the 90 ', where the country developed a well-known export service offering and that over the years would become a key pillar for the strengthening of tourism and the economy of the country, thus making Colombia one of the countries with greater recognition worldwide in this service.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
