Description
Summary:The aim of this paper review, is based on three aspects: 1. A conceptual approach and regulations from diff erent countries about the dangerous/defective products; 2. The responsibility assumed by the Surveillance and Control Entities in Colombia, and 3. The Implications related to consumer health and safety generated by the dangerous/ defective products. Although there are regulations and theories on defective and dangerous products that support this concern, in Colombia the dissemination strategies used by the Colombian government, and entities or organizations that safeguard the rights of consumers, are still incipient, or the means of consultation that can be used by consumers, to verify whether a product meets dangerous/defective characteristics, as well as the damages or the consequences it can generate, from bodily injuries to death are unknowing. To collect information, databases such as Scielo, Google Scholar and Dialnet were consulted in Spanishand English, with publication window from 2010 to 2017, some key words were established and the results were refined. For information processing, the selected literature was reviewed and confluence points were identified in relation to the proposed aim. Given this panorama, the paper review concludes that the consumer must take part actively in this chain, identifying dangerous and defective products and who sells them, in order to remove them from the market by the competent authorities to reduce the impact/damage to health or consumer integrity
