| Summary: | The disabled population has increased worldwide in recent decades. Understanding this reality has had a historical evolution marked by social and cultural contexts of each period. Currently there is a social view of disability, highlighting the interaction between physical, individual and social aspects. This implies a greater family role, especially when it comes to childhood disability since the center of action is not the isolated individual, but the individual in its family context. This article makes allusion to the social model of disability from the point of view of overcoming the disintegrating logic and positioning an integrated, complex and multiple comprehension of childhood disability. |
