For this work some methodological practices have been considered: Students´ background when they take any subject, these are valuable experiences at the time of introducing a new knowledge. The relation between mathematics and daily life. The importance of mathematics as a theoretical support in scientific and technological developments and their historical evolution and human cultural creation that has allowed the emergence and progress in different mathematical areas and knowledge. These experiences are the result of the research project: “Methodological Practices to improve the Linear Algebra Teaching and Learning, involving new Information and Communication Technologies”.En este artículo se presentan experiencias de aula, las cuales se han venido implementando en algunos cursos de matemáticas que se orientan en la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, cuyo fundamento teórico es el aprendizaje desarrollador. Dentro de las prácticas consideradas están: los conocimientos previos que tienen los estudiantes en el momento de cursar una asignatura, éstas son experiencias acumuladas, valiosas en el momento de desarrollar el nuevo conocimiento, la relación de las matemáticas con el entorno y la vida cotidiana, su importancia como soporte teórico en desarrollos científicos y tecnológicos y su devenir histórico como creación cultural humana que ha permitido el surgimiento y progreso de diferentes áreas de las matemáticas y del saber.
