This article focuseson the creation of the department of Risaralda, which although framed in thecommon dynamics of the National Front, has some very special characteristicsand it is precisely the participation of sectors of the business elite of the cityof Pereira, which they support the political justification of the separation witharguments of the business and economic order, and as an alternative for thedevelopmenEn los años sesenta, Colombia vive bajo el pacto del Frente Nacional acordadoentre los dos partidos tradicionales con el fin de intercalar cada cuatro años elpartido de gobierno, esta política se constituyó en un factor estimulante para ladivisión del territorio colombiano y la creación de nuevos departamentos.
