Partiendo del concepto de salud mental, se buscó la integración de la postura del modelo occidental y de la medicina tradicional indígena a partir de las categorías de sentidos subjetivos y sentido de comunidad. El objetivo principal es describir cómo dichas categorías interrogan y analizan las nociones relativas a la salud mental desde ambos modelos, para proponer un diálogo sobre salud mental intercultural. La metodología empleada consistió en un trabajo documental que integró artículos académicos y materiales audiovisuales que dieron cuenta de las prácticas culturales y sociales de las comunidades indígenas. Se concluye la pertinencia de dichas categorías de análisis al reflejar, por un lado, las creencias socio históricas de la medicina tradicional indígena sobre la salud mental, estructuradas a partir del sentido de comunidad y de lo subjetivo, por otro lado, creencias histórico científicas del modelo occidental. Abstract: This research is framed in the field of community psychology. Starting from the concept of mental health, the integration of the position of the western model and of traditional indigenous medicine was sought from the categories of subjective senses and sense of community. The main objective is to describe how these categories interrogate and analyze the notions related to mental health from both models, to propose a dialogue on intercultural mental health. The methodology used consisted of a documentary work that integrated academic articles and audiovisual materials that gave an account of the cultural and social practices of indigenous communities. The relevance of said categories of analysis is concluded by reflecting, on the one hand, the socio-historical beliefs of traditional indigenous medicine on mental health, structured from the sense of community and the subjective, on the other hand, historical scientific beliefs of the western model.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
