There are also complex and even contradictory electoral dynamics in this city,from which the opinion poll begins to have its own specific weight. Theexpressions of political violence against party leaders seem to have lost ground.Today, political activity has a higher dose of political pluralism; it has morepolitical competition and public deliberation spanning previously excludedsectorsEn este artículo se sintetizan algunas dinámicas político-electorales relevantes en Pereira (Colombia), entre 1987 y 2014. Además de los comicios que han permitido la elección de 9 alcaldes, se incluyen aquellos procesos en los cuales los ciudadanos han intervenido para apoyar-rechazar iniciativas relacionadas con temas locales o nacionales En esta ciudad existen complejas y hasta contradictorias dinámicas electorales desde las cuales empieza a tener su propio peso específico el voto de opinión. Las expresiones de violencia política contra dirigentes de partidos parecen haber cedido terreno.
