It would not be wise to imply that the architects have trivialized the problemof space, what is certain is that in a broad spectrum have not taken a position against himand have taken as a given, as a working tool whose function is more instrumental than anyother and, on the other side, there has been a constant concern to generate deep and criticaldiscussions on the subject. Is the case then consider that this type of theoretical reflectionsshould not be in the foreground from the architecture, which is why it is viable to make themfirst from philosophy.Frecuentemente se pone de manifiesto la preocupación sobre la importancia de las reflexiones teóricas que tienen que ver con la arquitectura. Por sobre estas razones, resulta pertinente ocuparnos, previo al tema particular del espacio público como hecho arquitectónico particular o como producto de la cultura, del pensamiento que lo acompaña. No sería muy acertado dar a entender que los arquitectos han trivializado el problema del espacio, lo que sí es cierto es que en un amplio espectro no han tomado posición frente a él y lo han asumido como algo dado, como una herramienta de trabajo cuya función es más instrumental que de cualquier otro tipo y, de otro lado, no ha habido una preocupación permanente por generar discusiones profundas y críticas sobre el tema.
