Desde el surgimiento de la depresión infantil, diferentes teorías pioneras en este campo habían dado su punto de vista rodeado de escepticismos y cuestionamientos ya que era sumamente complicado considerar esta condición mental como un fenómeno aislado de la comparación habitual hacia la depresión adulta; con el pasar del tiempo, este pensamiento se fue dejando de lado y diferentes estudios manifestaron que las diferencias entre ambos fenómenos radican en la forma como se exterioriza y las características que lo mantienen, considerando así los diferentes estilos en los que las familias imparten la crianza a los niños, cómo posibles efectos mantenedores de esta condición. Es así cómo surge la presente investigación con el objetivo de describir el proceso de reorganización familiar en torno al diagnóstico y tratamiento. Se da en dos familias de la ciudad de Pereira mediante la técnica de entrevista estructurada. El análisis se llevó a cabo mediante el contraste teórico de las categorías de depresión infantil, estilos parentales de crianza y adherencia al tratamiento, en donde se propició una discusión en torno a las convergencias de ambos casos que apuntaron a la necesidad de las reorganizaciones familiares internas para asistir al infante y su paso por el tratamiento psicoterapéutico. / Abstract: Since the emergence of childhood depression, different pioneering theories in this field had given their point of view surrounded by skepticism and questioning, since it was extremely difficult to consider this mental condition as an isolated phenomenon to the usual comparison towards adult depression; with the passage of time, this thought was left aside and different studies showed that the differences between the two phenomena lie in the way they are externalised and the characteristics that maintain them, thus considering the different styles in which families provide upbringing to children as possible sustaining effects of this condition. This is how this research emerges with the aim of describing the process of family reorganization around diagnosis and treatment. It occurs in two families in the city of Pereira through the structured interview technique and the analysis was carried out through the theoretical contrast of the categories of infant depression, parenting styles and adherence to treatment, where a discussion took place around the convergences of both cases that pointed to the internal family reorganizations to assist the infant and its passage through psychotherapeutic treatmentUniversidad Católica de Pereira.
