Description
Summary:Colombia sought to develop a liberal nation during the nineteenth century, and its State of Santander was not an exception to this goal. An expression of this pursuit was the newspaper , which aimed at forming liberal minds. The article makes use of hermeneutic tools to analyze the newspaper's texts relative to economic concepts in order to show their link to liberal thinking. The article concludes that Santander's elite had the intention to form a liberal citizenry but that the project was left incomplete.
