Then, by mathematical analysis, the type of dispersion, stagnantareas and the main variables that affect the working fluid was determined.Once it was achieved, a mathematical model for the design and operationof the reactor was used. Now it is ready to be used at industrial levels, inevery aspect related to metal recovery and recycling, proposing a solutionfor all those environmental problems that people face nowadays.En la investigación a la que hace alusión el presente artículo, se desarrolló el estudio de un reactor electroquímico tipo filtro prensa a escala piloto, donde se analizó la Distribución de los Tiempos de Residencia (DTR), aspecto fundamental en su comportamiento hidrodinámico; para ello se utilizó la inyección de un trazador a la entrada del reactor, midiendo el cambio en la conductividad tanto a la entrada como a la salida. Posteriormente, mediante análisis matemático, se determinó el tipo de dispersión, las zonas estancadas y las principales variables que afectan el fluido de trabajo.
