Summary: | The present study analyzes the contents of theprogramming grids, genres, formats, digitaltools, interaction and interactivity, that are beingimplemented through the web by some Colombianradio stations. Besides, a look at the currentsituation of cyber-radios is offered and importantbroadcasters’ aspects transmitting only through theweb is addressed. This comparative analysis is madefrom four case studies such as “Radio Altair” fromUniversidad de Antioquia (Medellín), “Radio UnadVirtual” from Universidad National Abierta y aDistancia (Bogotá), “Óyeme UJTL” from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano (Bogotá), and “Acústica” fromUniversidad Eafit (Medellín).This research is addressed towards universities’ virtualstations verification, since they are considered asauthentic cyber-radios, each of them with importantvariables letting know formulation of contents, the programming that they offer, the genres andformats they propose, and the use of digital toolsand interactivity with their users operation andapproach.Among the most important findings, we have foundthat these stations use free and diverse tools foundon the web, and the use of free licensed software. These stations also feed their programming gridswith contents which are elaborated by undergraduatestudents and teachers in general, as well as thosefrom other university actorsIn general, the production of content focuses onspoken content, entertainment and music playing,as they diversify the themes of their programming.Likewise, in their programming grids they reflect theparticipation of different sectors of the Universityin the directing of the contents towards diverseaudiences which are approached from differentsubjects such as social, cultural, educative andmusical. The current study can be considered as anx-ray of the use and utilization of digital tools thatare being implemented by universities’ web-sites, tobe considered as authentic cyber-radios. |
