Se utilizó un enfoque mixto, empleando modelos observacionales e interpretativos a 15 estudiantes de primer grado de bachillerato en una Institución de Educación intermedia en el municipio de Mistrató (Risaralda). Las conclusiones principales indican una mejoría notable en el aprendizaje de los estudiantes con relación a las operaciones básicas matemáticas una vez aplicada la herramienta, se evidencia mayor motivación en los estudiantes gracias al trabajo en equipo y a la aplicación vivencial, permitiendo relacionar los saberes teóricos con los prácticos en la vida diaria, logrando una mejoría en la metacognición del estudiante. / Abstract: The objective of this study was to design, apply and analyze a didactic sequence as a teaching - learning process of basic mathematical operations. A mixed approach was used, employing observational and interpretative models of 15 first-grade secundary students in an intermediate institution of education in the municipality of Mistrató (Risaralda). The main conclusions indicate a remarkable improvement in the learning of the students in relation to the basic mathematical operations once the tool is applied. Added to this, greater motivation is evidenced in the students thanks to the team work and the experiential application, allowing to relate the theoretical knowledge with the practice in daily life, achieving an improvement in the metacognition of the student.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
