Summary: | Livestock represents one of the main production lines in Colombia, where 8out of 10 farmers are small producers who have dual-purpose mestizo cattle inareas of low tropics and warm climates that produce less than 7 Liters of milkper day ( FEDEGAN 2012). The present study sought to evaluate the effect ofthe inclusion of two supplements based on cane (Sacharina and Solicaña) onthe quantity and quality of milk produced by mestizo cows housed in the areaof the Risaralda Valley in the municipality of Viterbo. For this, 12 mestizo cows(2nd and 3rd lactation third), of 340 Kg +/- 25 Kg of body weight, were selectedin star grazing (Cynnodon nlemfuencis) randomly assigned to 1 of 3 groups of4 animals each. . 2Kg / d of each supplement evaluated were offered; traditionalconcentrate (control -TC), traditional Sacharina (TSac) and Solicaña (TSol). |
