Las razones por la que se escogió el tema de humanización, corresponde a la importancia que ha alcanzado el término desde varias disciplinas, pero sobre todo para fomentar en los trabajadores, administrativos y personal en general de la salud el que adopten comportamientos más humanos, que permitan disminuir o atenuar un poco el dolor del otro, mantener relaciones de respeto en su entorno, sentido de pertenencia por la institución para que así, en los servicios se pueda percibir un ambiente cálido y fraterno para toda la comunidad usuaria. No obstante, se sabe que muchas de las falencias que se presentan hoy en día en los servicios de salud, se deben en mayoría a la crisis que vive la salud en América Latina, los mercados cambiantes, la migración y otros factores que están presentes en la red hospitalaria han mutado en mala calidad, poca oportunidad y falta de cobertura, convirtiendo la salud en un negocio rentable para algunos y en sentencia de muerte para otros. Abstract: The objective of the present work was to evaluate the humanization in health services in the emergency area of a hospital in Risaralda, in order to identify in health professionals the practice of values and humanistic principles in the institution, contributing with results that serve as a basis for further studies. The reasons why the theme of humanization was chosen, corresponds to the importance that the term has reached from various disciplines, but above all to encourage workers, administrative staff and personnel in general health to adopt more human behavior, which allow to diminish or mitigate a little the pain of the other, maintain respectful relationships in their environment, sense of belonging by the institution so that, in the services can be perceived a warm and fraternal environment for the entire user community.
