Current Treatment Options in Neurology; 2017;http://hdl.handle.net/10818/34629268134TE0950215 páginasObjetivo: Determinar las diferencias en el grosor de la capa de fibras nerviosas (CFN) por medio de la Tomografía de Coherencia Óptica (OCT) en pacientes con Neuromielitis óptica (NMO) y Esclerosis múltiple (EM). Métodos: Estudio de serie de casos en pacientes adultos con diagnóstico de EM y NMO. Resultados: Se recolectaron en total 20 ojos de 10 pacientes de los cuales 8 correspondían a pacientes con EM y 2 pacientes con NMO; los cuales se compararon con pacientes sanos pareados por edad y genero. Los pacientes fueron sometidos a la realización de La OCT con el equipo RS 3000® (NIDEK®) que utiliza la tecnología de captura de imagen Spectral Domain (SD). La mediana estimada y el Rango intercuartílico (RIQ) para el grosor de capa de fibras nerviosas en personas sanas fue de 110 RIQ (16) ¿m, en los pacientes con EM fue de 94 (21) ¿m y en pacientes con NMO fue de 76.5 (61) ¿m. Se estimaron las diferencias entre pacientes sanos y enfermos encontrando que el grosor de la CFN era significativamente inferior en datos absolutos: ¿=16 ¿m para Sanos-EM y ¿=33.5 ¿m para Sanos-NMO.
