La importancia de este abordaje se deriva de la incidencia en cuanto a los estímulos diarios, factores desencadenantes y factores de riesgo a los que esta población se encuentra expuestos día a día para el desarrollo de delirium.The current project seeks to standardize and guide health professionals involve in the care of critically ill children between 6 months and 5 years of age, of the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá in terms of prevention, identification and management of delirium, the institution has one of the best care units for pediatric patients it is vitally important to stablish a standard model for delirium, a pathology that can be fatal, but most importantly that is preventable. The importance of this approach stems from the incidence in terms of daily stimulation, triggers and risk factors to which this population is exposed every day for the development of delirium.
