However, they have been omitted in most textbooks and teaching guides of universities in the western world. This work not only intends to reclaim their importance in universal contemporary history but also explain said omission, its roots and the evolution and pertinence of this topic at academic, ideological and political levels throughout the second half of the 20 th century.La historia e historiografía de los procesos revolucionarios de independencia latinoamericanos constituyeron uno de los acontecimientos más importantes de la primera mitad del siglo XIX para explicar la historia contemporánea universal. No obstante, estos se han omitido en la mayor parte de los manuales y guías docentes de las universidades del mundo occidental. Este trabajo no sólo pretende reivindicar su importancia en la historia contemporánea universal sino explicar esta omisión, sus raíces y la evolución e importancia de este tema a niveles no sólo académicos sino también ideológicos y políticos a lo largo de la segunda mitad del siglo XX.L’histoire et l’historiographie des processus révolutionnaires de l’indépendance de l’Amérique latine a constitué l’un des événements les plus importants de la première moitié du XIXe siècle pour expliquer l’histoire universelle contemporaine. Cependant, ils ont été omis dans la plupart des manuels et guides pédagogiques des universités du monde occidental.
