Through a qualitative approach and a participatory action research methodology, the problem was observed, a diagnosis was made and, with the study of theorists, a classroom strategy was generated focused on the development of empathy in the students. The results are positive because there is evidence of a decrease in verbal and physical abuse rates within the studied population. From this, it is concluded the importance of the implementation of these strategies in the study plans to improve the Synthetic Index of Educational Quality referring to the school environment.El presente artículo de investigación está orientado a determinar la influencia de la empatía en la construcción de un ambiente escolar sano para mitigar laviolencia en el aula de clase, mediante la implementación de estrategias didácticas. A través de un enfoque cualitativo y una metodología de investigación acción participativa, se observó el problema, se hizo un diagnóstico y, con el estudio de teóricos, se generó un estrategia de aula enfocada en el desarrollo de la empatía en los estudiantes. Los resultados son positivos por cuanto se evidencia una disminución en los índices de maltrato verbal y físico dentro de la población estudiada.
