Through hermeneutics, content analysis of the letters was carried out. Strategies/ Data Collection: the letters were the source of information to understand ideological matrices on private or everyday aspects of important figures such as Octavio Pinto and Deodoro Roca. Conclusions: The main conclusion after the analysis is that the letters confirm the friendly bond between Pinto and Roca and their shared concerns about art and education. Both spotted a different direction regarding how nationalism in Argentine society had been thought. |

Originalidad: Dar a conocer correspondencia desconocida hasta el momento de una personalidad tan importante como Octavio Pinto hacia Deodoro Roca. Ambos, figuras claves que contribuyeron tanto en el campo artistico como politico durante la primera mitad del siglo XX en Argentina. Método: es una investigación de índole cualitativa. A través de la hermenéutica se realizó el análisis del contenido de las cartas. Estrategias de recolección de información: las cartas fueron fuente de información para comprender las matrices ideológicas sobre aspectos privados o cotidianos de figuras importantes como Octavio Pinto a Deodoro Roca. Conclusiones: La principal conclusión del trabajo es que las cartas analizadas confirman el vínculo amistoso entre Pinto y Roca y sus preocupaciones compartidas sobre el arte y la educación. Ambos marcaron un camino distinto sobre cómo se venía pensando el nacionalismo de la sociedad argentina.Objetivo: Analisar cartas inéditas de Octavio Pinto a Deodoro Roca durante o ano de 1917. Originalidade/contribuição: Dar a conhecer correspondência até então desconhecida de uma personalidade tão importante como Octavio Pinto a Deodoro Roca. Ambos, figuras-chave que contribuíram tanto no campo artístico como no político durante a primeira metade do século XX na Argentina. Método: trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa. O conteúdo das cartas foi analisado através da hermenêutica. Estratégias/coleta de dados: as cartas foram uma fonte de informação para compreender as matrizes ideológicas sobre aspectos privados ou quotidianos de figuras importantes como Octavio Pinto e Deodoro Roca. Conclusões: A principal conclusão do artigo é que as cartas analisadas confirmam a ligação de amizade entre Pinto e Roca e as suas preocupações comuns sobre arte e educação.
