description European development models and economic initiatives of German businessmen influenced the educative and didactic innovations in the Federal State of Santander (1857-1886) that were adopted as the education system in the United States of Colombia. In this article, the causes of the substitution of the Lancasterian method by the Pestalozzi method, the educational contributions from educators such as Victoriano Paredes and Dámaso Zapata, as well as the effects of the German Pedagogical Mission are examined. Finally, the instructive role played by technological resources like didactic journals, the specialized books by pedagogues and the educational manuals for teachers in their classrooms according to the radical ideology are demonstrated.

En el artículo se analizan las causas de la sustitución del método lancasteriano por el pestalozziano, los aportes educativos de pedagogos como Victoriano Paredes y Dámaso Zapata, así como los efectos de la Misión Pedagógica Alemana. Finalmente, se demuestra el papel instruccionista que tuvieron recursos tecnológicos como los periódicos didácticos, los libros especializados de los pedagogos y los manuales didácticos para el uso de los maestros en sus aulas de clase conforme al ideario radical.Les modèles de développement européen et les initiatives économiques des entrepreneurs allemands ont influencé les innovations éducatives de l’État souverain de Santander (1857-1886) qui ont été adoptées comme le système éducatif à suivre dans les États-Unis de Colombie. Dans cet article, on analyse les causes de substitution de la méthode lancastérienne à la méthode pestalozzienne, les contributions éducatives de pédagogues comme Victoriano Paredes et Dámaso Zapata, ainsi que les effets de la Mission Pédagogique Allemande. Enfin, on expose le rôle instructif joué par des ressources technologiques telles que les journaux didactiques, les livres spécialisés des pédagogues et les manuels didactiques destinés à l’usage des enseignants dans leurs salles de classe conformément à l’idéologie radicale.Os modelos de desenvolvimento europeu e as iniciativas económicas dos empresários alemães influenciaram as inovações educativas e didáticas do Estado de Santander (1857-1886), as quais se adoptaram como o sistema educativo a seguir nos Estados Unidos da Colômbia.
