The population consisted of a group of fourteen EFL learners who started fifth level in the extension area, at Instituto Internacional de Idiomas (IIDI) of UPTC. A diagnostic survey was applied at the beginning of the process, in order to verify the issue. The study was framed under action research principles aiming at articulating possible solutions to some observed classroom problems related to students’ attitude in front of the English learning. The instruments used to collect data were a diary, students’ artifacts, and a final survey. The findings evidence that it is relevant to take students’ interests into account when planning a course since they can become the motor to encourage and improve the teaching- learning process, however, this is not enough, students’ commitment plays the main role.application/pdftext/htmlspaspaUniversidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombiahttps://revistas.uptc.edu.co/index.php/linguistica_hispanica/article/view/3378/3034https://revistas.uptc.edu.co/index.php/linguistica_hispanica/article/view/3378/4958Copyright (c) 2015 CUADERNOS DE LINGÜÍSTICA HISPÁNICAinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Cuadernos de Lingüística Hispánica; No. 25: (enero-junio de 2015); 201-222Cuadernos de Lingüística Hispánica; Núm. 25: (enero-junio de 2015); 201-2222346-18290121-053XLanguage teachingEnglish learningteaching materialsand reactions.Exploring students’ reactions when working teaching materials designed on their own interestsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleArtículo de investigaciónhttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1Jiménez Niño, Patricia Kim001/10880oai:repositorio.uptc.edu.co:001/108802025-07-18 11:05:19.653metadata.onlyhttps://repositorio.uptc.edu.coRepositorio Institucional UPTCrepositorio.uptc@uptc.edu.co
