These celebrations through which the Boyacá Department social elite, such as the Government House and Dioceses articulated a process re-conciliating the new nation with the old metropolis, regarding thediscourse and the public holiday through Tunja’s center of history (1905) and the patriotic history in the pursuit of progress, modernity and the peace of the “Boyacensetown”, historical construction that was seeking the creation of a political community appealing to the national memory. A systematic search was carried out in order todevelop this work by means of the regional, national and press iles since the beginning of the twentieth century.Este artículo tiene por objeto describir las fiestas del Centenario de la Independencia Nacional (1910) y de la proclamación de la Constitución de Tunja (1911) en el marco de la Década de los Centenarios (1910-1919) celebradas en la ciudad de Tunja vistas desde las celebraciones de los bicentenarios de estos mismos hechos. Estas celebraciones con las que la élite del Departamento de Boyacá: la Gobernación y la Diócesis, articularon a través del Centro de Historia de Tunja (1905) y la Historia Patria, un proceso que reconciliaba en el discurso y en la fiesta pública a la nueva Nación con la antigua Metrópoli, en la búsqueda del Progreso, la Modernidad y la Paz del “Pueblo Boyacense”, construcción histórica que, desde el poder, buscaba la creación de una comunidad política apelando a los dispositivos de la memoria nacional.
