description This article analyzes the social networks and political power of the Tucumán elite, based on a study of the Posse Talavera family from 1830 to 1870. Data collection sources included the Finance and Administrative Section, Civil Judicial Section, and Protocole Section of the Tucumán Historic Archive. This information was complemented by bibliographic production on the studied period. The study is based on the hypothesis that the Posse Talavera family constituted a social and power network, by means of formal ties -matrimonial alliances- and informal ones -relations of loyalty and reciprocity-; this network situated the family in the scene of provincial politics in the decade of 1860 and allowed for the accumulation of signiicant assets by means of their economic activities. These ties transcended the local and regional sphere in consonance with the construction of the Modern Argentinian State.

Se utilizaron como fuentes la sección Administrativa de Hacienda, la Sección Judicial Civil, la Sección Protocolos pertenecientes al Archivo Histórico de Tucumán, información que se complementó con la producción bibliográfica sobre el período en estudio. La hipótesis que se planteo fue que la familia Posse Talavera a partir de vínculos formales –alianzas matrimoniales– e informales –relaciones de lealtad y reciprocidad– constituyó una red social y de poder que le permitió situarse en la escena de la política provincial en la  década de 1860 y acumular un patrimonio significativo a partir de las actividades económicas que desarrollaron. Estos vínculos trascendieron la esfera local y regional en consonancia con la construcción del Estado Moderno en la Argentina.Cet article analyse les réseaux et le pouvoir politique de l’élite de Tucuman, à travers la famille Posse Talavera, entre 1830 et 1870. A part la bibliographie pertinente pour la période étudiée, nous avons utilisé des sources provenant de Archives Historiques de Tucuman, en particulier la «Sección Administrativa de Hacienda», la «Sección Judicial Civil et la «Sección Protocolos». Selon notre hypothèse la famill Posse Talavera a constitué un réseau social et de pouvoir  travers des liens formels –mariages– et informels –rapports de loyauté et réciprocité–qui lui ont permis de se faire une place sur la scène politique provinciale et de constituer un patrimoine signiicatif grâce aux activités économiques qu’elle a entreprises.
