The investment for the war, which is a sterile expenditure-, must be reoriented towards peace through strategies of presence with works of the State throughout the country. The issue becomes more effective on the occasion of the release of General Alzate and the resumption of the Havana Talks, looking at the extreme povertyof Chocó Department.El artículo plantea una hipótesis respecto al papel de la fuerza pública en el posconflicto, pues en lugar de dedicarse a la guerra debería implementar políticas públicas para que se articule en torno a tareas de paz, como la construcción de infraestructura donde los ingenieros militares podrían jugar un buen papel. La inversión para la guerra –que es un gasto estéril- deberá reorientarse hacia la paz por medio de estrategias de presencia con obras del Estado en todo el territorio nacional.
