A series of pedagogical interventions were designed, in response to an initial diagnostic, which explored students’ Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) taking as referent Byram’s model (1997). Using the framework of qualitative action research, class activities, reflective journals and focus groups interviews were used to obtain the necessary information in order to reflect upon what students expressed regarding the ICC. The study revealed three categories: cultural recognition, cultural experience and cultural reaction.  Moreover, the results indicated that students were in an early stage of their ICC which was fostered through class activities. They understood the purpose and usefulness of the ICC. In addition, they were open and interested in including culture and ICC activities in the EFL classroom.application/pdfengspaUniversidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombiahttps://revistas.uptc.edu.co/index.php/enletawa_journal/article/view/7537/6229Copyright (c) 2017 ENLETAWA JOURNALhttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Enletawa Journal; Vol. 9 No. 1 (2016): January - JuneEnletawa Journal; Vol. 9 Núm. 1 (2016): January - June2463-19652011-835XLanguageCultureCultural ProductsCultural Practices and Intercultural Communicative CompetenceInvolving University Students in Intercultural Communicative Competence Activities through the Use of Cultural Products and Practicesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1Hernández García, Milton Gerardo001/16030oai:repositorio.uptc.edu.co:001/160302025-07-18 11:15:16.909metadata.onlyhttps://repositorio.uptc.edu.coRepositorio Institucional UPTCrepositorio.uptc@uptc.edu.co
