One of them is education and the whole world that surrounds it in our vast Latin American continent. It registers its evolution with multiple faces; it is enveloped by a veil of humanism, starting from the palpitations of the noble exercise of teaching and learning, whether in the environments of the world of children or youth or in the fields of the work of higher education. The teaching lineage in its noble daily work. The other reality is the terrible environment in which we live in 2023, the war with its criminal face, but also social and domestic violence, references that not only hurt and outrage, because domestic violence and child abuse splash the walls and enter the school when they break into the behavior of students and, sometimes, exert symbolic violence on children and adolescents.Coexisting with the curricular routine that marks the generous work of our Latin American teachers, we hear the echoes of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and with it, the heart-rending speeches of the industrialized countries that advocate with their false ethics for that conflagration, while they continue to feed with millions of dollars the NATO war machine. And now, in these last months, we are terrified to see how terrorism reappears and behind it, the Israeli genocide on Palestinian children and families. As educators, we cannot remain silent.

As educators, we cannot remain silent.Ecos de un entorno difícil Como dos círculos concéntricos, las realidades se confrontan, se salpican, desarrollan su ruta de vida y parecen concentrarse ensimismadas con su entorno.  Una de ellas es la educación y todo el mundo que la circunda en nuestro basto continente latinoamericano. Ella va registrando su devenir con múltiples caras; la envuelve de suyo un velo de humanismo, partiendo de las palpitaciones del noble ejercicio de enseñar y aprender, ya sea en los entornos del mundo infantil o juvenil o en los ámbitos del quehacer de la educación superior. La estirpe magisterial en su noble quehacer cotidiano. La otra realidad es el entorno terrible que nos ha tocado vivir en 2023, la guerra con su rostro criminal, pero también la violencia social y doméstica, referentes que no solo duelen e indignan, pues la violencia doméstica y el maltrato infantil salpican los muros y entran a la escuela cuando irrumpen en la conducta de alumnos y, en ocasiones, ejercen una violencia simbólica sobre niños y adolescentes. Conviviendo con la rutina curricular que marca el quehacer generoso de nuestros docentes latinoamericanos, llegan los ecos de la invasión rusa a Ucrania, y con ella, los discursos desgarradores de los países industrializados que abogan con su falsa ética por esa conflagración, mientras siguen alimentando con millones de dólares la maquinaria bélica de la OTAN. Y ahora, en estos últimos meses, vemos aterrados como el terrorismo reaparece y detrás de él, el genocidio israelí sobre niños y familias palestinas. Como educadores, no podemos quedarnos callados.Ecos de um ambiente difícilComo dois círculos concêntricos, as realidades confrontam-se, chocam entre si, desenvolvem os seus percursos de vida e parecem concentrar-se no seu meio envolvente. Uma delas é a educação e todo o mundo que a rodeia no nosso vasto continente latino-americano. Regista a sua evolução com múltiplas faces; está envolvida por um véu de humanismo, a partir das palpitações do nobre exercício de ensinar e aprender, seja nos ambientes do mundo das crianças e jovens ou nas esferas do ensino superior. A profissão docente no seu nobre trabalho quotidiano. A outra realidade é o terrível ambiente em que vivemos em 2023, a guerra com sua face criminosa, mas também a violência social e doméstica, referências que não apenas ferem e indignam, pois a violência doméstica e o abuso infantil salpicam os muros e adentram a escola quando invadem o comportamento dos alunos e, por vezes, exercem violência simbólica sobre crianças e adolescentes.A coexistir com a rotina curricular que marca o trabalho generoso dos nossos professores latino-americanos, estão os ecos da invasão russa da Ucrânia e, com ela, os discursos de cortar a respiração dos países industrializados que defendem esta conflagração com a sua falsa ética, enquanto continuam a alimentar a máquina de guerra da NATO com milhões de dólares. E agora, nestes últimos meses, assistimos aterrorizados ao reaparecimento do terrorismo e, por detrás dele, ao genocídio israelita de crianças e famílias palestinianas.
