description	This article analyses the appointment of positions of the superior government of the New Kingdom of Granada and the accusations regarding the abuses perpetrated there by the president governors. It is possible to explain this phenomenon in virtue of the cultural circumstances of the time, in which distributive justice (as an obligation of the king and his representatives towards their vassals) such as the reciprocity of social ties (don and contradon) were combined. The methodology used consisted of consulting various normative and institutional sources from a historical-legal and political- cultural perspective, in order to understand the uses and abuses of the appointment of positions in this context. It was possible to ascertain that knowledge of the quotidian institutional mechanisms allows for a better understanding of the way in which those who provided the positions tried to support the obligations of their position and those of their social ties.

La manera en que se desarrolló tal fenómeno es posible explicarla en virtud de las coordenadas culturales de aquella época, en la que tanto la justicia distributiva (como obligación del rey y sus representantes para con sus vasallos) como la reciprocidad de los vínculos sociales (don y contradon) se combinaban. La metodología de trabajo consistió en acudir a diversas fuentes normativas e institucionales desde una perspectiva histórico-jurídica y político-cultural, para comprender los usos y abusos de la provisión de oficios en su propio contexto. Se pudo comprobar que el conocimiento de los mecanismo institucionales cotidianos permite entender mejor las forma en la que los que proveyeron los oficios, trataron de sustentar las obligaciones de sus oficios y la de sus vínculos sociales.Cet article analyse l’attribution des charges du haut gouvernement dans le Nouveau Royaume de Grenade, ainsi que les accusations dont le président de l’audience a été la cible par les abus qu’il aurait commis dans ces nominations. Pour expliquer ce phénomène, il faut avoir recours aux usages culturels de l’époque, caractérisés par un entrecroisement de la justice distributive (les obligations liant le roi et ses représentants aux vassaux) et de la réciprocité des liens sociaux (don et contre-don). La méthodologie adopté pour ce faire consiste dans la recherche des sources normatives et institutionnelles diverses à partir d’une perspective à la fois historico-judiciaire et politico-culturelle, afin de saisir les bons et mauvais usages de l’attribution des charges dans le contexte cité.
