The subjective experience of the Late Modernity seems determined by the loss of its significance, its cognitive reach and of its possibilities to be expressed in an aesthetic way. Two Peruvian collections serve as corpus to reflect on how poetic language faces this circumstance at the beginning of the 21st century. To achieve this objective, the phenomenological claims of Merleau-Ponty serve to center the attention on how, after having explored the limits of their language, the poets materialize a poetic experience that can be read as that of a subject-body that makes language an essential part of its lived experience. This analysis highlights the contribution of phenomenology to literary criticism and enriches the reading of the late works of Eielson and Varela in the framework of contemporary poetry. |

Dos poemarios peruanos sirven de corpus de reflexión para responder a la pregunta por cómo el lenguaje poético hace frente a esta vivencia a inicios del siglo XXI. Para abordar este propósito, se utilizan los postulados fenomenológicos de Merleau-Ponty, los cuales permiten fijar la atención en cómo, luego de haber explorado los límites de su lenguaje, los poetas materializan en estos textos —que finalizan su obra literaria— una experiencia poética condensada en un sujeto-cuerpo que hace del lenguaje una parte esencial de su experiencia vivida. Con esto se valoriza el aporte de la fenomenología a la crítica literaria y se enriquece la lectura de la poesía última de Eielson y Varela en el marco de la poesía contemporánea.A experiência do sujeito na Modernidade tardia parece estar definida pela perda do seu significado, de modo que a arte e a poesia parecem por vezes ser despojadas do seu alcance cognitivo e estético. Duas coletâneas de poemas peruanos servem como corpus de reflexão sobre a questão de como a linguagem poética lida com esta experiência no início do século XXI. Para abordar este propósito, são utilizados os postulados fenomenológicos de Merleau-Ponty, que nos permitem focar na forma como, após ter explorado os limites da sua linguagem, os poetas se materializam nestes textos que completam a sua obra uma experiência poética condensada num corpo de sujeito que faz da linguagem uma parte essencial da sua experiência vivida.
