It was qualitative work is framed in the Action Research. In this work, ten workshops focused on cooperative learning were developed to promote students’ skills in English class. However, although some difficulties were observed when students worked in teams, the development of the workshops favored personal aspects such as self-esteem, inter- and intrapersonal relationships and stimulated constructive attitudes towards cooperative learning.Este escrito pretende mostrar cómo la lectura de cuentos breves en inglés mejoró en cierto grado la interacción oral (speaking) y la comprensión lectora (reading comprehension) de los estudiantes de primer semestre de Administración de empresas de una universidad pública en Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca. El diseño metodológico de este trabajo cualitativo está enmarcado en el enfoque de investigación-acción. En este trabajo se desarrollaron diez talleres centrados en el aprendizaje cooperativo para fomentar las habilidades de los estudiantes en la clase de inglés. Sin embargo, aunque se observaron algunas dificultades a la hora de trabajar en equipo, el mismo desarrollo de los talleres favoreció aspectos personales como la autoestima, relaciones inter e intrapersonales y estimuló actitudes constructivas hacia el aprendizaje cooperativo.Este artigo visa mostrar como a leitura de contos em inglês melhorou em certa medida a compreensão oral e de leitura dos alunos do primeiro semestre de Administração de Empresas em uma universidade pública em Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca. O desenho metodológico deste trabalho qualitativo está enquadrado na abordagem da pesquisa de ação. Neste trabalho, dez oficinas focadas no aprendizado cooperativo foram desenvolvidas para fomentar as habilidades dos estudantes na aula de inglês.
