This article presents the current situation of oncology drugs, marking a characterization, diagnosis and identification and startegies evaluated under different scenarios. Finally, it is presented a proposal of improvement applied tranversely to storage processes including labels such as just in Time and the application of information and communication technologies (ICT).El desarrollo de este artículo se centra principalmente en el problema de almacenamiento de medicamentos oncológicos, siendo este un elemento importante en la cadena de suministro, aplicado en el contexto de gestión de almacenes de medicamentos oncológicos en el operador logístico e instituciones prestadoras de servicios de salud IPS de Bogotá D.C. y en el marco de un proyecto macro “Propuesta metodológica para la definición de políticas, reglas de negociación y coordinación en la gestión de abastecimiento de los medicamentos oncológicos en Colombia”, financiado por Colciencias y la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Se presenta la situación actual de los medicamentos oncológicos haciendo una caracterización, diagnóstico e identificación y un análisis previo de las variables, políticas, y estrategias evaluadas bajo distintos escenarios.
